Despite broad bipartisan support among constituents, Congress has not passed any regulations on congressional stock trading in over a decade. We’ve been tracking stock trading by Nancy Pelosi, Ted Cruz, and other members of Congress for the last few years - building dashboards that make the data easily accessible to the public. In order to investigate why there has been so little progress in regulating the financial interests of politicians, we made a trip to Washington D.C. and interviewed people who had been involved in ongoing legislative efforts on the issue.
